Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The fish, notably the cod and rock fish, steals the show here—fresh and perfectly cooked. Diners rave about the batter, noting it strikes the ideal balance between crispy and flavorful. Many appreciate the low prices for generous portions. The casual vibe makes it easy to enjoy a meal after a day’s outings, and the availability of outdoor seating enhances the experience during pleasant weather. Staff members are frequently complimented for their friendly service, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere. Lastly, the kids’ menu isn’t just a throwaway—parents often highlight how their children enjoy the tasty options tailored just for them.

Most Disliked

While the quality of food is top-notch, some guests note that the popularity of Papa’s leads to longer wait times, especially on peak days like Friday evenings. Despite this, many understand that fresh food takes time and often accept it as part of the experience. Additionally, on busy evenings, some diners suggested that service could feel a bit rushed, impacting the overall atmosphere during peak hours. However, a few patrons mentioned that the food can come in inconsistent portion sizes, particularly on really busy days. For those looking for a quiet dining experience, visiting during off-peak hours is recommended.

A fantastic family run restaurant. The fish was amazing quality, chips cooked to perfection. The atmosphere in the restaurant is beautiful with wooden floors and exposed brick walls. We live in France and were on a day trip, but if we lived locally we would be here every week. Thank you for a lovely meal
